Pascal Magne, DMD, PhD
Dr. Pascal Magne is an Associate Professor with Tenure and the Don and Sybil Harrington Foundation Chair of Esthetic Dentistry in the Division of Restorative Sciences, University of Southern California, Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry, Los Angeles, CA.
He graduated from the University of Geneva Dental School, Switzerland, in 1989 with a Med. Dent. Obtained his Doctorate in 1992 and his Ph.D. degree in 2002. Dr. Magne received postgraduate training in fixed prosthodontics and occlusion, operative dentistry and endodontics, and was a lecturer at the same university beginning in 1989 until 1997.
From 1997-1999, he was a Visiting Associate Professor at the Minnesota Dental Research Center for Biomaterials and Biomechanics, University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry. After concluding two years of research, Dr. Magne returned to University of Geneva Dental School and assumed the position of Senior Lecturer in the Division of Fixed Prosthodontics and Occlusion until he was recruited to the University of Southern California in February 2004.
Dr. Magne is a recipient of multiple awards from the Swiss Science Foundation, the Swiss Foundation for Medical-Biological Grants, was the recipient of the 2002 Young Investigator Award from the International Association for Dental Research as well as the 2007, 2009 and 2018 Judson C. Hickey Scientific Writing Award (for the best research article of the year published in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry) and the 2017 EVY AACD Award for Outstanding Innovation in Cosmetic Dentistry (American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry). He is also the author of numerous clinical and research articles on esthetics and adhesive dentistry and is an internationally known mentor and lecturer on these topics. He also Furthermore, Dr. Magne authored the book Bonded Porcelain Restorations in the Anterior Dentition - A Biomimetic Approach which has been translated into twelve languages and is considered as one of the most outstanding books in the field of adhesive and esthetic dentistry.
He is a founding member of the Academy of Biomimetic Dentistry and a mentor of the Bio-Emulation think-tank group. In 2012, he launched a revolutionary approach to the teaching of Dental Morphology, Function and Esthetics (the 2D/3D/4D approach) for freshman students at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC.
David Hornbrook, DDS, FAACD, FACE, FASDA
Dr. David Hornbrook graduated from UCLA School of Dentistry and has been in private practice in San Diego, California for the past 33 years. He is a pioneer in Live-patient, esthetic dental treatment programs and was the founder and director of LVI, PAC~live, the HornbrookGroup, and Clinical mastery. He has lectured internationally on all facets of dentistry including Porcelain Veneers, Implants, dental materials, Occlusion, and direct composites. He is the past editor of the Journal of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and is an Accredited and Fellow of the ACCD, Fellow and Diplomate of the American Society of Dental Aesthetics, a Fellow of the Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics, and was honored with Lifetime achievement awards by the Crown Council and the Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics. He had developed numerous materials and techniques that are used daily by restorative dentists and has consulted numerous manufacturers on dental materials and is the Clinical Director of Education at Utah Valley Dental Lab in Provo, Utah.
Luiz Gonzaga, DDS, MS
Luiz H. Gonzaga, DDS, MS graduated from the Catholic University of Brasilia College of Dentistry in 2004. After working in private practice and taking perio/implants CE courses for one year he was accepted for the Implant/Periodontic specialty training, graduating in 2009. Dr. Gonzaga was awarded with the ITI scholarship in 2009 and completed his OMFS fellowship the next year. He completed a residency program and Maters in Prosthodontics from the University of Florida Center of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Gonzaga is a ITI speaker and Fellow of the International Team for Implantology, a member of the American College of Prosthodontics, the American Equilibration Society and the Academy of Osseointegration.
Linda Marek has been a professional Dental Practice Management Consultant for over 34 years.
With a hygiene & dental supply background, she partnered with colleague Ken Runkle in Paragon Management Associates 33 years ago where she was integral in developing consulting as a cornerstone of the program. In 2003 she developed the ‘Academy System’ of The Paragon Program, which is kept relevant via vigorous research into current dental initiatives, academic curricula, and business innovations.
Having worked with over 500 clients over her career, and with a current personal client base of over 70 Paragon clients, she continues to publicly present continuing education programs both Nationally & Internationally several times each year.
Her wide business curiosity seeks multiple avenues of growth strategies for her personal clients and the Academy curriculum. In our challenging times, her research is focused on the effects of PPO adjustments and the scaling of expenses by corporate dentistry on private practice.
During the course of the annual Paragon National and International Study Clubs she blends the intense curriculum with diverse recreational & cultural activities, seeking to emphasize the importance of the harmony between work & pleasure.
Originally from Michigan and a dental hygiene graduate of the University of Detroit-Mercy, she currently lives in Columbus, Ohio where she watches both Michigan and OSU football games in the fall with her husband, Mark. Go Blue!
